FELT FURNITURE? WHY NOT!

Reading the article La Moda en Casa showed in the magazine Woman, I was surprised by an armchair made with felt by Louise Campbell. It shocked me immediately and wake me up for finding something else about this material and its utility since my last post. Guess what? My research have been very successful, I have found some really nice deco objects made in felt that I am going to show you:

PRODUCT DESIGN MADRID 2013. BY WANNA ONE

Last Wednesday we had the chance to assist to the first Spanish Exhibition dedicated to the Industrial design, Product Design Madrid 2013. We have prepared a video in order to show you a brief of what we have seen in it. But before here you have our impressions and the pleasure to meet new names in the Spanish and international world of designers.

Andreu Carulla

PPresents 3 products, a collection of lamps calles Facetada, hand made and with a free mobility, I really like their effect of transparency and their lightness. Aside of this collection, we could discover Moby duck (designed for Besttiari) and the stooler ( designed for Utoopic)

Berta Pascual

Presented a table called Parti 1+3, they are specialized in the creation of patterns applied to objects and they use a “fetiche” support, the table, for making their world of flowers and textures ( that is how they define their web site). Maybe because being a graphic designer, I felt in love on this table, its colors, patterns and simplicity was calling “take me home”.

José García Puente

Presents its book-shelf “abc”, its 2 functions of light and other to mark in order to have clear defined you different book collections, makes this shelf very funny and useful, we could have a chat with José and he showed us how when you pull out the metal desk, the light switches off automatically.

Mecedorama
Young (born in November 2011) but very formed, this team designs, paints and build hand-made swingers and also any hand-made furniture that you could take home.

Noviembre Estudio

Elle Decor gave their prize “Young Talent 2013″ to Noviembre Estudio, their chairs “where can fit 2 can fit 3”, are really nice, their sentence “there is always place for one more” its more tan deserved for the Elle Decor International Awards (EDIDA), their boot H20 based in our traditions, was also a great success because it is adapted to our present moment with its shape and colors.

Pilar de Prada
From the 3 pieces presented ( Pteron and UAG_2M), “Bruma” is the one that seduced me the most. A lovely decoration piece, with a particular shape that creates an original and amazing desk with its upper level opening as a piano. Ideal for people as me, having a mess son top of its desk and that we can just close at the end of the day, providing a tidy aspect.

Raúl Lázaro
And its “jirafa” mug, a funny and different one, full of personality that for sure will give a few surprises.

For finishing, a couple of young guys with a brilliant future in front of them, Pablo Figuera y Álvaro Goula, their Piedra Rosa tables give a different perspective of the contemporary trend of traditional objects. But what we really loved was the Savage collection, some bathroom articles made in aluminum, very original and minimalist that will provide a special character to any bathroom (Produced by Boo in Barcelona) And at last to emphasize on Orwell, a piece of furniture between a sofa and a bed and a tree house, as Pablo explained us about its kid experiences when he was sharing his bed with his brother and they had to hide with the blanket for not disturbing their oldest son during his studies.

Thanks to the organizers and designers for approaching to the public this wonderful jobs, that help to give the international view that we need.

This year we have prepared a compilation of present funny and deco, very varied for allowing all the lovers to find their ideal present.
